North Railway Street Construction Information
Construction along North Railway Street (see image below) is coming soon! Work will include:
- updating aging underground water & sewer networks
- replacing roads & sidewalks
- providing streetscape improvements (i.e., accessibility, pedestrian realm, landscaping, lighting, street furniture upgrades)
- updating Triangle & Pisttoo Parks.
This work will help create a more welcoming downtown, enhance public spaces, improve accessibility and connectivity throughout downtown and into the river valley as well as improve viability for businesses and encourage economic growth.
2025 Construction Area
Construction will be on North Railway Street from Elm Place to the east edge of Alberta Avenue.

Comittment to Businesses
The Town will:
- Work with businesses & residents to carry out construction in a way that balances the speed of the work with an acceptable amount of disruption.
- There’ll be direct communication between the Town & construction team with those affected.
- Ensure business continuity:
- We’ll keep pedestrian & delivery access open for businesses & residences.
- Temporary access will be provided during construction.
- Water & sewer services will continue throughout construction, except for minor disruptions of 1-2 hours when temporary services are installed & removed.
- Construction impacts avoided/minimized where possible.
- Understand the needs of businesses; work cooperatively to maintain function during construction.
- Improve curb appeal & transitions between public and private spaces after construction.
