What are volunteer board members saying?
I am a firm believer that the best way to improve the world is to start in your backyard and there is no better way to do that than volunteering for the Town of Okotoks' various boards and committees. I have spent the last year volunteering with the Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) Committee and it has really opened my eyes to the various good things that community organizations are doing across the town to make Okotoks a better place. I have met some great people, dealt with some interesting subjects, and I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Joining the United Way Partnership Committee is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the programs being provided in Okotoks while providing them funds so they can operate their amazing programs. This committee is very rewarding as you can see how programs impact our community. This committee encourages its members to provide ideas and assist in delivering fun fundraising events.

I joined the United Way Okotoks Partnership Committee after reading about open seats in various town committees in the Western Wheel. I had very little knowledge of the United Way or committees in general but I wanted to give something back to my town. I have found The United Way Partnership Committee to be an easy group to be part of. I enjoy the monthly meetings and discussions with the group on fundraising and raising awareness of the charity's impact in Okotoks and area. I especially enjoy listening to eligible local non-profits ideas for the funding raised by our efforts and helping those plan become a reality.
