This modern skatepark will offer a fun and challenging design for skateboard, scooter, BMX and other ‘action sport’ athletes, providing an opportunity for users to grow and progress their skills as well as take into account the park’s ability to host demonstrations and community events.

Howard Park (229 Woodhaven Dr.) was chosen as the preferred location as it offers the space and features best suited for a new skatepark, and provides for a balance of recreational amenities on the south side of town. Council directed Administration to proceed with the planning, design and construction of a new skateboard park at Howard Park - to be completed in 2024.

Building a second skatepark in Okotoks aligns with the priorities identified in the updated 2023 Recreation, Parks and Leisure Master Plan as priority # 17, as well as the Citizen Satisfaction Survey results and the Municipal Development Plan.
