The Town is constructing an inclusive and accessible playground in Howard Park to increase opportunities for people with disabilities to participate and contribute to our community.

Please note, input for the accessible and inclusive playground at Howard Park is an in-person only opportunity and involves a single design workshop on May 6. For details on the Howard Park Design Workshop, visit our event page.

Howard Park is a situated in a central location with accessible paved pathway locations to the regional primary network, adjacent facilities including the Viking Rentals Centre (Events Hall and Arena), and the Foothills Composite High School. The existing playground is also situated next to a ball diamond and various sports fields.

The current playground structure at Howard Park is not accessible because of the pea gravel and safety surfacing and the lack of any accessible or inclusive play elements.
